More Scandal Hits Pakistan Cricket Team (5th September, 2010)

Pakistani cricket is in more trouble after fresh news reported by British newspapers. Britain’s ‘News Of The World’ reported one of Pakistan’s players telling them that some of his colleagues cheated regularly. He allegedly told reporters that players took money in exchange for helping the team lose matches. The paper did not name the player but the report has made other players angry. Batsman Yasir Hameed is quoted as saying: "It makes me angry because I'm playing my best and they are trying to lose." British police are staying quiet.

Pakistani cricket is already in crisis. Three of its top players are accused of bowling no balls in another gambling scam. The players include the team’s captain Salman Butt and bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir. All three deny any wrongdoing. These scandals do not just affect Pakistani cricket.
