There is news for people who are afraid needles and going to the doctor for an injection. Researchers at America’s Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) created a small machine that uses a high-speed jet to shoot medicine the skin at the speed of sound. The doctor (or user) can how much medicine into the body and how it goes. The jet injector device uses tiny, magnets and electricity to inject drugs.

MIT researchers say the new injector has benefits. Scientist Catherine Hogan said the new device would be very for people who hated needles but to inject themselves every day. She said many people to avoid their injections because of fear. She also said the injector would reduce the of accidents in hospitals. One estimated that nurses and other workers accidentally pricked with needles 385,000 times a year.
