A 3-kg Chihuahua became the newest to the Japanese police on Friday. Seven-year-old Momo (Japanese for “peach”) joined the search and squad in Nara, western Japan. Momo her test by taking than five minutes to sniff out and a “human” survivor in a mock . A Nara Police spokeswoman said it was for a Chihuahua to be a police dog. She told reporters: "We would like it to work hard by advantage of its small ." She is just 25 centimetres tall.

Momo well be the smallest police dog in the world. It is that her size has not stopped her working. She will be particularly useful in Japan, where there are many disasters earthquakes. She is small enough to through places that are too for larger, more traditional rescue dogs. Momo is also to become a nationwide celebrity. TV studios are queuing up to have her as a on their TV shows. Her owner, Keiko Matsuyoshi, 31, said she is very of her pooch.
