Apple iPad on Sale in USA (4th April, 2010)

Apple's newest product, the iPad tablet, is now on sale in America. Hundreds of Apple fans waited outside Apple’s stores all night. They wanted to be sure of getting their iPad in case they sold out. Some people even flew to the USA from other countries. There has been great excitement about the iPad for months. Unfortunately, customers outside the USA will have to wait a bit longer for their tablet. The first generation tablets have wi-fi, so people can use them indoors. They don’t yet have 3G connectivity, so they cannot use them outside.

There is a lot of talk about the new iPad. When Apple’s boss, Steve Jobs, first announced details of it, many people were disappointed. Experts couldn’t decide whether or not it was something people wanted. To many, it was like a giant iPhone. Whatever happens with the iPad, it makes sure Apple stays as the trendiest maker of gadgets in the world. Sony used to have that tag when everyone had Walkmans. It will be interesting to see how long Apple stays at the top. One company will come along and make something to replace mp3s and iPhones.
