India’s 40-degree Heatwave

It is roasting hot in India right now. Roasting hot is even hotter than boiling hot. One city in the country reached 46 degrees. A man said the heat made his eyes sting. People don’t want to go outside. The heat is good for people who sell sugar cane juice and water melon. They are doing good business. Lots of people are also selling water bottles. There are many mini water stores on the street. Such hot weather is unusual in India. The last time is was so hot was 50 years ago. The hot weather is stopping people from voting in the election.

I can’t imagine 46-degree heat. It must be like sitting in a pizza oven. I think you would die. You have to drink lots of water. If you don’t drink a lot of water, you will die. I live in a country where thirty degrees is the maximum. That’s better for me. When it’s too hot, you sweat, and I don’t really like sweating. I think it’s hot because of global warming. I’m a bit worried about this. I always read on the news that the Earth might die. We have to use less energy. If we do this, people in India will not be so hot.
